DUTCH:
Had al wel vaker de groene specht gehoord of gezien. Soms ook van dichtbij maar was dan niet in de gelegenheid om er een foto van te maken. Simpelweg omdat ik de camera niet mee had.
Vorig jaar was ik in de Betuwe om de steenuil te fotograferen. Dat waren prachtige dagen met prima resultaten.
Op een van die dagen had ik een mooie “bijvangst”. De groene specht.
Had het geluid al een aantal keer gehoord bij aankomst maar ook tijdens de sessie in de hut. Helaas liet de specht zich niet zien tot nu. Uit het niets zat de specht ineens in het gras. Voorzichtig de lens gedraaid en de eerste beelden kunnen maken. In het gras en op de stam van een boom.

Had heard or seen the green woodpecker before. Sometimes up close, but I was unable to take a picture. Simply because I didn’t had my camera.
Last year I was in the Betuwe to photograph the little owl. Those were beautiful days with excellent results.
On one of those days I had a nice “bycatch”. The green woodpecker.
Had heard the sound a few times upon arrival, but also during the session in the hide. Unfortunately, the woodpecker didn’t show up until now. Out of nowhere, the woodpecker was suddenly in the grass. Carefully I turned the lens and was able to take the first images. In the grass and on the trunk of a tree.
